Iris Quilting Workshops

On the 11th and 18th October, our top tutor Anne Starkey taught 24 pupils how to do Iris Quilting.

After Anne explained what was going to happen through out the day, the students traced diagrams on to Stitch and Tear as well as rotary cutting fabric strips before working on their individual designs. During the class, the students learnt how to do foundation piecing and completed 1 or 2 triangles.

Anne felt that everyone worked well and successfully completed at least 1 triangle so they knew the technique for the rest of the triangles before going home.

The students also really enjoyed the workshop and gave it a 5* rating. They gave great credit to our tutor Anne Starkey who they described as very helpful and enjoyable to work with as she makes the learning of patchwork easy.

As well as the tutor the students found the workshop a great experience too. Many described it as a very informed and enjoyable workshop. As well as thinking that it was well explained with a helpful discussion and many enjoyed the challenge of the workshop but was happy to receive help from such a friendly class.

We hope you all enjoyed it and well done for completing your pieces!
