'Hope', Appetizers & A Bit of Shortcake

This week we have a new thought provoking novel in our Book Club section and three new tasty recipes for you all to try at home.
First, is a book named 'Hope' by Lesley Pearse. This book is based in Bristol and Bath in the 1800s and how a young girl coped with being a maid and nurse in the Crimea.
Next is the recipes....
1. A Diebetic Dessert named Fresh Strawberry Shortcake.
2. The first of one appetizer named Bruschetta with Basil and Tomato.
3.The second appetizer is The All Time Classic - Stuffed Mushrooms.

All of these recipes are suitable for vegetarians as there is no meat involved in all three and they can be changed and adjusted for your liking.

Make Your Own Month!

At the WI it seems that it is make your own accesories month. In our Coming Up section we have two new workshops that will stop you splurging in the shops and making your own instead.
First is Patchwork Bags, where there is a chance to make either a Messenger Style Bag, Shoulder Bag or Quilters Bag. The first two dates a fully booked but the third on the 8th of April & the 1st of May still has plenty of spaces.
Another accesorises workshop is our unique Fascinators Workshop, where you will get a chance to make your own headwear for any occasion or day to day activity you like. This is on Saturday the 19th of March so it would be perfect for a weekend event.
