Another Two, Along With The Scottish Holiday!

Firstly, we have another two WI's in West Yorkshire. Please welcome Cookridge Crumpets & Hebden Bridge.
Cookridge Crumpets is based at the Cookridge Holy Trinity C of E School on the 1st Tuesday of each month at 7.30PM.
However, Hebden Bridge is a Halifax based WI, who meet on the 3rd Monday of each month at 7.30PM in the Hope Baptist Church on New Road in Hebden Bridge.

Also take a look at our Recent Events page, where there is a brief account of what the Holiday to Fort William and The Isle of Skye was like, even with the terrible weather. All the holiday goers seemed to have an excellent time and did not let the bad weather rain on their parade!

Next week we have a trip to Menwith Hill, so take a look to see how it goes.

It's Been A While!

I know it has been a while, but this is the trouble with only working Mondays since i had the majority of April off i didn't get a chance to update you on what has been going on.
First, we have opened two new WI's in the West Yorkshire Federation. The first is Asda Trolley Dollies, which is based in Asda House in Leeds for the Asda House Employees and the second is Tong Village Vixens, which is based in Tong Village in Bradford.
Second, is Buns & Roses very own Gemma Rathbone making contributions to our beaming blog. Take a look at her book recommendation for Jam & Jeopardy, which she read with her WI group at the art gallery in Leeds. Also take a look in the Recent Events section to read her account on her trip to Denman doing a course on Elizabethan Goldwork.
As we did not get a chance to update our Recipes section earlier we have added three new recipes for May, with a taste of the Royal Wedding. The first is Coronation Chicken, next is The Crown Pavlova and the last is for everybody and is Vegetarian Moussaka.
At the end of April, we had a Spring Ramble going from Shadwell Methodist Church on a 3, 5 or 8 mile walk. This was very successful as the weather was fine and didn't include the recent downpours. We hope that everybody had a wonderful time and will join in next year.
More currently, yesterday some of the ladies from the West Yorkshire Federation are attending the Holiday to Scotland. The trip is from the 8th May until 13th May. Taking a look at the weather does not make the holiday appealing as it says heavy rain and thunder storms, but i am sure with all the fun activities such as going to the shopping centre, to Blair Castle, taking train journeys and a day excursion to the Isle of Skye it will all be worthwhile.

Next week find out how the weather really was up in Fort William and have another look at the Coming Up section.
Also please keep submitting your recipes and book recommendations.
