New Book!

On our Book Club page, there is a new recommendation for a new release by Ramona Ausubel named 'No One Is Here Except All Of Us'.

It is a novel based in 1939 in a small village in Romania, where the war is fresh and the tribes imaginations are alive, so they can survive.

Take a look!

Since 2005, they have been raising money by taking walks and knitting teddies for ‘Lavvies for Grannies’ and other local groups. They also have regular activities for their members to enjoy such as scrabble, stitch and bitch, quiz tournaments and their very own Christmas pantomime. Before Christmas, they hosted an event called ‘Glam Wraps’, which showed their members how to wrap their Christmas presents beautifully. As well as activities they also have many speakers come in to their meetings such as Michael Duncombe – Musical Memories of 50’s & 60’s and Pauline Thorburn – Tales from a Teacher. Over the next year, Kirkhamgate are hosting friendship evenings and supporting their local community by getting involved in their Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
