OUR CHRISTMAS LUNCH CELEBRATIONS!

On Wednesday 3rd December, 127  members from across the Federation enjoyed a wonderful Christmas Lunch at the Manor Golf Club in Drighlington with guest speaker Anne O'Brien - author of The Forbidden Queen and new latest book The King's Sister.

We started with delicious starters of Tomato and Red Pepper soup or Mixed Seafood Salad, followed by Roast Turkey or Roast Halibut in a scrumptious sauce, both served with seasonal vegetables and the specially requested honey roasted parsnips.

Whilst we let the starters and main courses settle we drew the winners of the 50/50 Club.  Five lucky members won prizes of £100, 2 x £50 & 2 x £30.  We then drew the Federation Flutter - 5 members won their full 2015 membership fee of £36 and another won £25 towards their next years' subs.

The raffle was then drawn and 12 lucky ladies went home with one of the lovely prizes including a beautiful iced Christmas cake made by Heather Ros our Social Events Sub-committee Chairmen

Desserts of tradtional Christmas Pudding and Brandy Sauce or Fruit and cream pavlova were served with tea & coffee and members then settled down to listen to Anne's talk about how she became a writer of historical fiction, she told us that there were some fascinating women in medieval times and that she also drew inspiration from her local area.
