100 members attended this very intersting and information evening to discuss the 2015 Resolution - Failing to Care.

Members were also given updates about the 2014 Resolution on Organ Donation and other WI Campaigns including Hope for Justice.

They also had the opportunity to see a brilliant display '100 Year of Campaigning' which showed Resolutions from across the decades.

And of course this great evening was finished off with tea and cake.

Members commented: -

'Excellent evening - very informative'

'Enjoyed the evening, especially Hope for Justice'

'A very enjoyable and interesting evening.  A lot of hard work went into this - well done!'

We received some lovely comments from the members who attended including: -

"What a fabulous day, lovely new venue, good speakers and a great atmosphere in which to meet up with friends old and new"

"Thank you to all concerned for arranging another brilliant Annual Meeting"

40 WI members enjoyed a fabulous few days at Denman College 1- 3rd May, 2015

Four courses had been arranged for them to try: -

Do Ahead Dinners - this was designed around fridge and freezer-friendly dishes that can be prepared in advance to take the stress out of dinner parties and midweek meals.

Silver Jewellery - this was an introduction to the basis principles of making jewellery with traditional tools and an opportunity to produce a piece of silver jewellery.

Silk Embroidery: Long and Short Stitch- this course showed members how to embroider a rose and leaves using this beautiful stitching technique and included the techniques of shading and stitch direction, padding of petals and leaves to give texture and depth to their work.

Ramble the Thames Path Shiplake to Henley (3-4 miles) included a picnic lunch in Henley and brief exploration of the town, then in the afternoon a minibus took the members to Greys Court for a visit to the gardens, a house tour and a picnic tea.

21 Presidents & Secretaries from across the Federation came along on Thursday, 23rd April for an evening full of vital information for them to take back to their WIs which will  hopefully help them at their meetings and events.

We asked them: -

What did you find most useful about this workshop?

General background about holding meetings etc

Really good information consolidating what we do and gained new ideas too.

Sharing information with other WIs

Was there anything you wanted to know which wasn't covered?

 Not this time

Eveything was covered, thank you

I didn't know what to expect

What are you going to do as a result of the workshop?

Get a copy of the WI Handbook!

Improve how I approach my job!

Implement some of thing discussed

Share more with other WIs

Put everything in the order that it should be!

We are very pleased this workshop helped these members and look forward to seeing the results soon.

Hi all,

I must apologise for not updating our blog in recent weeks, it has been a very busy time with events, the Annual Meeting and the Kiplin Hall exhibition - my work time has just gone in a flash!

But now we are back!
